Understanding Directory Information

The term ‘directory information’ refers to information about parents and students Portage Public Schools shares with outside groups.  These outside groups can include, but are not limited to,  parent-teach organizations, libraries, universities, political candidates and organizations, and military recruiters.  It is important to note that any outside individual or organization can request this information and that Portage Public Schools is required by law to do so.

Opting Out

As a parent/guardian, you have the right to opt out, or otherwise exclude, your information from being included in these information requests.  You can choose to be excluded from some or all requests by updating your preferences in the Skyward portal.

School Directories

In the Skyward portal, we post school directories so that parents/guardians can see the contact information for other students in the school or schools their children attend.  You also can opt out of this online directory if you so desire.
